Course Details
In this advanced wheelforming course, you will develop the skills to create larger, more complex forms on the potter’s wheel and expand your throwing techniques. You’ll be introduced to advanced methods such as coiling and sectional throwing, exploring the nuances of working with larger pieces. Ideal for students with a foundational understanding of throwing techniques, this course is designed to push your skills to the next level.
The course emphasizes mastering the management of larger amounts of clay and learning to use your body effectively to shape and manipulate your work. Remy will guide you through group demonstrations and provide personalized one-on-one instruction in a supportive studio environment, helping you refine your ability to create both tall, vertical forms and broad, low-profile pieces.
All clay is provided and selected pieces will be glazed in the final class of the term. The pieces will be fired after the term is complete, and it may take up to four weeks after your course ends for works to be available for collection. * Please note: There are two course breaks in Term Two. There will be NO class on: Saturday 25 April and Saturday 6 June.

* The course fee incorporates the cost for materials such as clay.
* NAS Short Courses are open to students of ages 16 years and over. The NAS Art Club is open to students between 15 - 17 years old.

Art Materials
Students must supply their own art materials, please refer to the list below.
- Towel and protective clothes (old shirt or apron)
- Notebook and pencils/pens
- Standard ceramic tool kit including cutting wire, small knife, wooden/rubber/metal kidneys, small sponge
- All clay and other materials are provided
- We recommend students bring a P2 KN95 disposable mask
- Enclosed footwear is essential in all studios on campus.
