Be guided through a series of exercises that introduce the basic principles intrinsic to painting, including style, colour mixing and application, and idea development. Tonee introduces expressive painting techniques, abstraction, colour as a powerful emotive tool, and translation of narrative into visual language.

Are you painting in your home studio and wishing to connect with other artists to sustain your practice? This live and interactive course gives intermediate and advanced painting students the opportunity to work closely with a professional artist in a mentorship capacity, to enhance their painting practice. Tonee Messiah guides you in techniques for sustaining your creative inspiration and energy in isolated studio settings, with a special focus on developing your individual interests and learning how to translate your ideas into dynamic visual language.

Concession price is available to holders of a current Centrelink concession card, a NSW travel concession as defined by Transport for NSW, or are Alumni of NAS as defined:
Graduates of the NAS holding a degree, diploma or certificate of the NAS, including graduates of the art department of East Sydney Technical College, Sydney Technical College and Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education (between 1975-1977); and former students who have successfully completed at least one year of full-time study on any of the award courses included above.
Eligible concession card holders must bring their proof of eligibility to their first class. Alumni eligibility will be checked by the Alumni Coordinator prior to the first class.
