Edwina Barton

Edwina Barton (Eora, Sydney) is a multidisciplinary artist working across printmaking, sculpture, photography, and installation. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the National Art School. Her practice explores grief, memory, fragmentation, and the archive, drawing on family photographs, found imagery, and sentimental materials to examine how memories are preserved, transformed, and lost over time. The early loss of her mother continues to shape the emotional and conceptual depth of her work, informing an ongoing engagement with remembrance and absence. Through translation, repetition, and material transformation, Barton considers photographs and objects as both records of the past and active participants in remembrance. She has exhibited across Australia and is the recipient of the Bettina McMahon Printmaking Prize and the 2026 Mosman Youth Art Prize, Tertiary Award.
