Louise Isackson

I’m an artist exploring the visual expression of music through colour, light and sound. I have a curiosity to explore various materials and processes to understand the parallel languages of a kind of musical colour. My work reflects my knowledge of music, having played the piano from an early age. Music is a discipline that continues to shape how I approach rhythm, harmony, and composition in visual forms. Inspired by the design aesthetics of the Bauhaus and particularly Paul Klee, I explore the deep connections between sound and colour, drawing on resonance, tonality, and structure as shared foundations. Through a formalist design aesthetic, I focus on the essential interplay of colour, form, and musicality to create works that translate sound into a visual experience.
