Weekend Australian Review: Artistic Monuments

Saturday 31 August 2019

By Tim Douglas

NAS alumna Zoe Young was featured in The Australian Weekend Review (31 August 2019)

On Boxing Day last year, Australian artist Zoe Young received an email from a Canadian winemaker asking if she might paint a portrait of the man’s brother. There were two important things to note: the subject of the would-be painting was in the final stages of pancreatic cancer, and he also may be someone Young had heard of: the Miles Franklin-winning Australian author Andrew McGahan.
