Our campus is located on Gadigal land in central Sydney, within the historic sandstone walls of what was once the Darlinghurst Gaol and is now one of the nation’s premier art institutions where many of Australia’s leading artists having studied and taught. The National Art School (NAS) is Australia’s leading independent art school, dedicated to exceptional, studio-based art education and shaping contemporary art practice. 

NAS is accredited through TEQSA and offers Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours), Masters and Doctorate courses. The School is at the forefront of learning, creativity and innovative practice utilising its independent identity and distinctive studio-based teaching model to deliver exceptional higher education and research, scholarship and professional practice. 


The Position 

The Student Services Manager leads the Student Services Team and is responsible for overseeing the entire student lifecycle, from application and enrolment through to graduation. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality student administration services, expert advice on enrolment, fees and academic policies, and the effective management of student records and processes. Working collaboratively across the School, the Student Services Manager drives continuous improvement of systems and procedures, maintains the integrity of student data, and ensures compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, while fostering a positive, efficient and student-centred experience.


What you bring to the role 

You are an experienced student services professional with a strong background in higher education administration and a passion for delivering exceptional student experiences. Bringing proven leadership capability, you can effectively manage and develop a team while overseeing the student journey from application through to graduation. You have excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills, coupled with a strong commitment to student-centred service, equity and inclusion. With substantial experience using Student Information Systems, you confidently manage data integrity, reporting, system configuration and process improvement, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and government reporting requirements. You are highly detail-oriented, able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable making informed decisions using sound judgement and initiative. Most importantly, you foster a supportive, culturally safe and inclusive environment that promotes student wellbeing, engagement and success.
