The Material Image 2024

Join us at the National Art School, Sydney, for The Material Image, the 8^th International Transdisciplinary Imaging Conference, from 1 – 3 November 2024.

This event explores the diverse materiality of images at the intersections of art, science, and culture, focusing on how contemporary image-making practices are reshaping the way we create, view, and interpret images, calling into question their ‘materiality’.

With previous conferences held in Australia and internationally, The Material Image brings together thinkers and practitioners to examine how images reflect societal values, communication, and collective identities in today’s visually-driven world.
