NAS Yearbook Photoshoot
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
2020 Yearbook Photography Shoot
It’s yearbook time! Every year the National Art School produces a publication to commemorate the graduating year group. You are asked to select one artwork to be photographed and your portrait will be taken as well.
Preparation
• Finish the work and only sign the work on the back
• Record details of the work so you can provide them on the day (these details form the caption for your artwork)
- Title
- Medium
- Dimensions — measure the work in centimetres (height x width) or (height x width x depth)
- Contact details – if you want to have them, email and/or website and socials
• In setting up your work for the photograph the photographer will have a back sheet, hanging materials and a few differently shaped white plinths. If you do not think your work can be set up adequately with this equipment please discuss with your Head of Department so alternative equipment can be supplied.
What if my work can’t be photographed?
Ensuring lighting consistency for photographs of work across the Year Book is paramount to the quality of the publication — so you can only supply your image if agreed through discussions with your HOD. A few students (mostly Photomedia) are better suited to providing their own image of their work. If this is you then the specs are:
• Provide a JPEG file on a USB drive as 300 dpi, RGB, close to A5 size (approximately 15 cm wide OR 210 cm high)
• Also supply a photo quality colour reference print
• You will still need to book in a time to provide the above, complete necessary paperwork and have your portrait taken.
On the Day: Arrive at Building 24:
Please arrive TEN minutes PRIOR TO THE TIME YOU ARE SCHEDULED FOR
Complete paperwork — sign a release form for the images and provide the artwork details and your contact details (if you would like to). Whatever you put on the form will be included in the publication.
Setup and Photography of Work:
The shoot is supervised by an experienced photographer who will consult with you during the process, you will then have your portrait taken.
If you are running late or need to contact the Shoot please call reception on 9339 8744 and they will get a message through to the team running the project!
