Please join us for an exhibition walk through with 2023 judges Catherine O’Donnell (artist), Paula Latos-Valier (Trustee, Sir William Dobell Art Foundation) and Katrina Cashman (National Art School Gallery Manager and Senior Curator).
The biennial Dobell Drawing Prize is Australia’s leading prize for drawing, an unparalleled celebration of technique, innovation and expanded drawing practices. The $30,000 acquisitive prize is presented by the National Art School in partnership with the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation and explores the enduring importance of drawing within contemporary art practice. Jane Grealy’s winning work Maria’s Garden, Scheme C will enter the National Art School’s significant collection, built over the past 120 years.
Hear from Catherine O’Donnell, Paula Latos-Valier and Katrina Cashman who had the challenging task of individually reviewing 1062 entries to choose the 64 finalists works currently showing in the Dobell Drawing Prize #23 exhibition in the NAS Gallery until 10 June, 2023.
