National Art – Part One

This significant exhibition has opened with a bang!

The Preview included great floor talks by Garry Shead, Justine Varga, Leslie Rice and Ken Done, while over 1,300 people attended the opening night. (go here for photos) ( link to FB page album). This is a major celebration of the National Art School and its significant contribution to Australian art. Both formative and signature works are included in the exhibition, and all works have been donated to the Collection of the National Art School.

Our academic year kicked off with Drawing Week, a program of drawing intensive workshops for our 2nd and 3rd year BFA students.  At the @sydneyoperahouse workshop, led by Drawing Lecturer Tango Conway, students were invited to experiment and expand their practice in an environment rarely open to the public.
