NAS First Peoples Program

NAS First Peoples Program

Led by the Head of First Peoples Program John Waight and supported by an external Advisory Committee, the First Peoples Program team works collaboratively across the school and engages staff, students, and alumni.

The First Peoples Program is responsible for the development of NAS policies and procedures to embed Indigenous best practice across all divisions including Academic; Gallery; Collection, Library, Communications and Marketing; and Procurement. The team supports the retention and growth of First Nations enrolments at NAS and provides mentorship and pastoral care to First Nations students. Program deliverables also include school outreach initiatives; student scholarships; professional development opportunities; and a series of specialist lectures, artist talks and workshops.
