Sophie Cape

Sophie Cape’s artistic career includes solo exhibitions at Mosman Regional Art Gallery; Hong Kong International Art Fair; Olsen Irwin, Sydney; and Tim Olsen Gallery, Sydney. Her most recent solo show Cicatrix was held at Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, UK. She has received extensive recognition of her work through numerous residencies, prizes, grants and scholarships. In 2014, her work Romper Stomper (Portrait of actor Dan Wyllie) won the Portia Geach Memorial Award for portraiture. Cape has been the subject of the ABC documentary Adrenaline Brush. She has also received a UK Drawing Projects Residency and a Cité Internationale des Arts Residency through the Art Gallery of New South Wales, has won the 2015 Geelong Art Prize, and was awarded an Australia Council ArtStart grant in 2011.
