Reg Mombassa

Reg Mombassa, or Chris O’Doherty, arrived in Australia in 1969.
He attended NAS over two periods, returning the second time to
complete his Diploma of Painting. He has exhibited at Watters
Gallery, Sydney since 1975 and has held solo and group shows
outside Australia in New Zealand, the US, France, Italy, England,
China and Thailand. As a musician he has been a member of Mental
as Anything (1976–2000), Dog Trumpet (1991–present) and The
Pinks (2012–present). His work as a designer graced the stages,
shirts and inflatable sculptures of the 2000 Olympic Games closing
ceremony and featured in the graphic design of the 2013 Sydney
New Year’s Eve party.
