Course Outline

Ease into learning how to draw the figure by firstly developing skills in objective drawing. Students will initially draw still life arrangements to familiarise themselves with learning to see and how to reduce subjects to simplified shapes. The life model will be studied with line and tone. During the course students will produce multiple studies from small to large scale, and from quick to sustained. Students will gain an insight into what different mediums, including graphite, charcoal and ink, can offer when drawing the life model.

Both a fun and challenging class, open to all levels. The exercises are designed to introduce beginners to drawing from life while also offering more advanced students the opportunity to refine their skills.

*Short courses are open to students of ages 16 years and over. For students under 16 years of age there are School Holiday Workshops, Art Club and other youth art programs.
