Course Overview

Figuring out what to create is fundamental to creative success in the arts and creative industries; in this workshop you’ll learn key principles for developing and building concepts, to apply to your art practice. Big Picture Thinking for Artists is a 2-day workshop where you are invited to explore your own ideas via your chosen medium, across any visual art practice including painting, sculpture, installation, digital art, creative writing, or even app development.
Kelly-Ann Denton leads you through a series of visual strategies to help create your blueprint for progress and expand your ideas, so they are comprehensive, well-thought-out, and ready for implementation.

The workshop is suitable for those with an existing artistic practice as well as those just starting out in their artistic journey. It is open to all who are looking for an adventure of the creative mind and anyone who wants to enhance their ability to picture concepts or just use the imagination in new ways to transform ideas, whatever the medium. No particular skills set is required, and students are encouraged to share their diverse concepts with the group, to contribute to the development of individual creative outcomes.

*Short courses and weekend workshops are open to students of ages 16 years and over. For students under 16 years of age there are School Holiday Workshops, Art Club and other youth art programs.
