Ildiko Kovacs

Ildiko Kovacs has exhibited extensively since the 1980s. Selected highlights include Abstraction: Celebrating Australian Women Abstract Artists, National Gallery of Australia, which toured nationally from 2017 to 2019; Australasian Painters, Orange Regional Gallery, 2017; Into Abstraction I: Interconnections, Macquarie University Art Gallery, 2017; Black, White & Restive, Newcastle Art Gallery, 2016; and The Gift of Ann Lewis AO, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2010. Surveys of her work and accompanying monographs include Down the line 1980–2010, Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre, 2011; and DNA of Colour, Orange Regional Gallery, touring nationally 2019. Kovacs won the 2015 Bulgari Art Award, Art Gallery of New South Wales. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections nationally and internationally. She is represented by Martin Browne Contemporary, Sydney; Hugo Michell Gallery, Adelaide; and Raft Artspace, Alice Springs.
