Anne Zahalka

Anne Zahalka is a highly regarded Australian photomedia artist having exhibited extensively for more than 30 years. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and commissions, winning the 2005 Leopold Godowsky Jr Colour Photography Award in Boston, the 2007 National Photographic Prize and the 2008 Macarthur Cook Art Award. In 2002 Sydney Airport commissioned a series of photographs reflecting the vibrancy of Sydney’s muliticultural identity, and in 2014 Zahalka completed a commission at Parliament House, Canberra to mark its 25th anniversary. In 2017 she was the recipient of the Director’s Choice in the Olive Cotton Award for photographic portraiture. Zahalka’s work is held in all major collections in Australia.
